Where Do My Kids Go?
We know your kids are important to you. They are important to us, too. Like most United Methodist churches we are a "Safe Sanctuary" congregation, meaning that we have instituted policies and practices designed to safeguard our children and ease your mind.
On Sunday mornings, during both the 9:15 and 11:00 services, childcare and children's ministry options are available, staffed from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
At the Bridge Service at 9:15 a.m., volunteers are available in the church library (on the side of the main room, to the right of the kitchen), our "Kid Connection" — to answer questions about options for your children, and to lead you and your young ones over to Education Building next door where our children's ministries take place. They can go over to "Kid Central" as soon as your family arrives, at the beginning of the worship service, or at the point in the worship service when we offer a dismissal; and they are, of course, also welcome to stay with you throughout the worship service. During the worship service the Church Library (on the far wall, to the right of the kitchen) is available as a space for nursing moms and fussy kids. Please make yourself at home. You and your family are welcome here!
PLEASE NOTE: Visitors and others bringing children who are new to Salem will be asked to fill out an Information Card as they drop off their child. This is to provide us information as to how best meet the needs of your child (e.g. allergies) and to how to contact you if there is a need during the service. Want to save time? Here's a link to the Information Card to download and fill out to bring with you.
There are brochures on the "Information Station" kiosk that can provide you with details about our children's and youth ministries, as well as other ministry areas in the life of our church.
