Salem is one of 25 congregations (currently) in Newton and Rockdale Counties who have banded together to reach out to homeless families of our community, brought to our attention by school personnel who discover a student whose family is homeless.
We set up rooms upstairs in the Family Life Center for sleeping, provide hosts for the night, feed them meals, and help transport them to school and work during the day. Currently Salem is committed to doing this quarterly. Members (you?) form teams to take care of various aspects of showing these discouraged people loving hospitality.
