Tracing its beginnings to 1824, Salem United Methodist Church is celebrating 200 years of ministry and mission in Covington and beyond. Salem will be hosting a Bicentennial Celebration September 15, 2024. The purpose of our 200th Anniversary Celebration is to give Glory to God for what He has done among us, to celebrate our past and to embrace our future.
To commemorate this occasion Salem is offering a beautiful, limited edition, Bicentennial Celebration Plate. This plate has a picture of the church today, as well as a picture of the church approximately 100 years ago. If you would like to purchase one please contact the church office at 770-786-6027, or email the church [email protected]. The price of the plate is $30.00, all proceeds will benefit our Bicentennial Celebration September 16th. Thanks so much for your support.
Salem is also asking that you please contact the Chairperson of the Bicentennial Celebration Committee, Pat Daniel, at 770-786-8254, or 404-556-5019 if you:
-Are able to help set up the week before Sunday, September 15th, 2024.
-Have a large canopy for outdoor dining (at least 10’x10’}.
-Have photos, books, or any other items of historical significance you would want to include in any church history displays. Bins, as well as a login book, are located in the hall outside the sanctuary and marked for these items. All items will be returned after the celebration.
