Pastor/Staff Parish Relations Committee
Rev. Dr. Coy Hinton, ADOX District Superintendent
The staff parish relations committee workshop is designed specifically for members of the committee, but others are welcome if they wish to learn about the committee. The time will be spent dealing with expectations placed on the committee by the United Methodist Discipline. Questions that participants bring will be discussed. Hopefully those in attendance will gain a new sense of the importance of the committee for the mission of the congregation.

During this workshop attendees will take a look at the "nuts and bolts", foundational information and the structure and practices for church finances and stewardship. If you are a member of a church Finance or Stewardship Committee or just interested in how “non-profit” finances work, make plans to attend.

The Administrative Council is the group of dedicated disciples who provide plan and implement the ministries of nurture, mission/outreach, worship/witness, and faith development in the local church. This workshop will provide an excellent opportunity for new and returning leaders the ability to enhance and explore ways to make more disciples and empower ministries to advance God’s kingdom on earth.

In this session you will learn the difference between the Lay Leader and Lay Servant positions. You will better understand the responsibilities of the Lay Leader/Lay Member and the different categories, the processes and the resources available to Lay Servants that will help us to live out our call to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
